Today we explored Orcas Island. Fresh blackberries can be found along the beaches and are ready to be eaten. Their are many hidden harbors on the island each one having its own unique enchantment. In the afternoon Mark and I kayaked off Obstruction Point and around Obstruction Island. There were lounging seals that eyed us the whole time as we passed by. On the far side of the island were small rock beaches, lots of kelp in the water and barnacles on the rocks along the shore. There are many homes on the hills of the island which is surprising because there is no clear access to get materials on the island. Nevertheless they have a great vacation home in a serene setting. There are other islands as well and on a clear day you can see the mountains.
It was a great day!
