Today started out raining off and on as a group of us went out to breakfast. It is our day off. We then headed up to the Astoria Column which overlooks the Columbia and Young Rivers. The view is amazing from the top. Mark and I launched a small wooden airplanes off the top. We had found the airplanes at the bottom and decided to give it a try. They did ok sauntering down to the ground. A young woman launched her airplane and it got into the thermals and it really soared for a long time. It was fun to watch. After we took a tour bus down the hill back into town, we had lunch then I went for a massage . I pulled or strained a muscle in my back and the massage really felt good. After we went and visited my college friend Jim Alegria and his wife who happen to live 2 tenths away from the hotel. It’s a small world. It was fun to see them and after a tour of pier 39 from Jim we went to the restaurant Baked Alaska for dinner. It was a great day !
